Update 25th September 2011_Sunday

Hello Folks!

There is some good news.

Rishis treatment has started. As mentioned earlier , he has received his first dose. He is home now.
He will be admitted once a week , for 4 weeks , every time he gets another dose of the injection.

The better news is we found doners or rather , the doners found us :)

Wanted to take a moment to let everyone know , that there are kind souls in this world , like angels , who appear from no where . :)

StockTalkers , you'll surely are God sent :) a BIG THANK YOU to each one of you!

Thank you for driving all the way to Pune to personally hand over the money to the family and meeting them. They sure feel blessed.

Below are a few pictures we clicked with them alongwith Rishi , his sister, Rujuta (who is the bone marrow doner) and his father , Mr. Prakash Sarafdar.

Update_21st September 2011

Rishi went for his regular check up this morning. After the reports were out , the doctor suggested that we do not waste any more time in admitting him for the injections prescribed.

The situation was quite grim , coz the hospital at first refused to admit him without a deposit of 1 lakh INR.

After which the doctor was spoken to (who is also one of the founders of the hospital).

Looking at our previous records on payment , he agreed to admit him with a small certain amount which we have collected till now.

But we definitely need a LOT more :(

2 lacks is the total cost of 4 injections and we have just about collected 50 thousand...

I'm sure the good lord above has a plan....

He will be given one injection today and the next dose after a week. We will know by tonight if Rishi will be in hospital for the whole month or he will be allowed to be home in between the injection dozes.

Praying real hard.. something works out till then.

Apologies on being repetitive , but if anyone is willing to contribute , please do feel free to get in touch with me at tina.malkani@gmail.com and i shall give you the address to which you can courier cheques to .

The cheque is most welcome directly on the name of the hospital with Rishis ref number written behind it (these details shall be given to you once I am contacted for the same)

Also , anyone who wants to wire money , please do feel free to wire it to the account mentioned in one of our first updates on Rishi...

A sincere thanks to each one of you , who remember Rishi in your prayers too...

Update 19th September 2011

HI Folks!
Yes! It's been a very long time.. and i was glad I had nothing to write about here , till now... :(

Rishi has been going for regular check ups. All seems well with his blood cells.. but not with his liver.
The last time , which was in about March , our little warrior needed 4 injections as he had contracted GVHD ... Graft Versus Host Disease , for which he was treated immediately with the help of a few very very kind souls who made it possible for him to continue fighting this battle.

After which he needed medication continuously which also would cost a bomb , would it not have been very kind of a dear sai brother who helped us through this by getting us a discount of nearly 50% for his medication. This kind gesture was shown not only once, but infact twice. A very BIG THANK YOU from all of us...may God bless you all always ..

It was all stable for a while with medication , but now again , this week , when they went for their regular check up , they found that he had GVHD again!! of the Liver!

For those of you , who are joining us now... here is a little about GVHD :

Rishi has developed a Graft Versus Host disease of the Liver . GVHD is a complication that can arise post bone marrow transplant in which newly transplanted material attacks the recipient's body. As part of the treatment, he will need IV-mabthera 500mg weekly - in all 4 doses. The cost for the same would be about 2 lacs. Need help in mobilizing the same. The cost of 2 Lacs mentioned above is towards 2 doses. The hospital has agreed to bear the cost of the other 2 doses. However, we need the funds in place before the first dose can be administered.

We are sure these are tests of times that our little warrior and his family are going through and there are enough kind souls to help him out of these.
Please do feel free to get in touch with us for this cause at any time .

Looking forward to hearing from you on the same.

PS - Attached below is the letter from the doctor dated 16th Sept 2011.

Thank you :)

HI Folks,

Rishi had his monthly check up. All is well except his liver function , for which the docs have put him on medication for 3 months minimum.

The course of medication would cost 50 , 000 , had it not been for one kind soul who we happen to know through someone , who sponsored 50% for it.

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank them and everyone else for this kind gesture. Rishi is surely blessed to have known you all indirectly and I am sure once he is big enough to read this blog He will value these years more than anything known to him and am sure he will be a very responsible citizen of our country , giving back as much as he can.

God bless you all and thank you once again!

Saved Rishi :) :) :)

HI Everyone!

Rishi went for a check up after a months gap and all his counts seem to be in place and on track.

He is doing good by the good lords grace.

His school has been spoken to and they have agreed to even promote him to the next class in spite of not attending last year ; since they know he is a very bright student.

He will be attending school 2- 3 times a week to start with and will be given that extra care and attention.

As of now all is well and a BIG THANK YOU to each one of you! God bless u all abundantly, always! Lets keep the prayers on that Rishi keeps well and grows up to be a lovable and responsible citizen of our country.

The lords ways are so inspiring...

A few days after we found out all of the above about Rishi , we were guided to another child , called , Allahbaksh Maqsood Momin . www.save-momin.blogspot.com do have a look at that link and spread the word.

We have been given another opportunity at saving another life . Lets not let it pass by. Let us all do our best and our bit.

Thank you once again and looking forward to hearing from you all with just the same and even more enthusiasm as we did for Rishi!

In Love, Gratitude, Prayer and Service, Always,
Tina

Keep the Faith! :) -- Update_11th April 2011

Hi All !

It's been a while i've written and i'm glad... :)

I usually take it as a good sign when its been long i've written on this blog! It just means that there isn't anything in particular to write about Rishis health which is worrisome.

Yes, i do agree I also write to thank each one of you and also to let you all on a general update on our little warrior; but i'd prefer to go the 'no news is good news" way :)

Rishi is doing good .. by the good lords grace; recovering at home. He goes to the hospital once a week for a general check up and blood counts etc.

His last counts were a tad lower than what they've been but that the docs said not to pay too much heed to as ups and downs will keep happening for some time to come .. we got to become friends with them :)

We would like to thank a few very generous donors who have contributed much more than anyone of us could ever expect or imagine.

Though like i always say , any amount , even if its one rupee , makes the most difference...

Thank you to all of you and God bless you all , always.

It's only coz of you all that Rishi has made it to where he is today .. Please do Keep the prayers and faith on ...

In Love, Gratitude & Prayers, Always,
Tina
